Program Description:
The following information explains the Let the Student Choose Foreign Experience Scholarship and the application process and guidelines. Please read this information before beginning your application.

The Let the Student Choose Foreign Experience Scholarship is funded by the Bruce and Anne Strohm Foreign Experience Scholarship, a gift from Bruce and Anne Strohm to facilitate foreign study and travel for students enrolled in the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with a demonstrated financial need.  The scholarship reviewers will be looking for dynamic students who, in addition to financial need, exhibit a clear purpose for their study abroad plans, and a deliberate approach toward making the most of their study abroad experience to grow personally and enhance their career plans. Recipients will also be expected to exhibit an enthusiastic willingness to "pay forward" this financial gift by sharing their experiences and encouraging fellow students to pursue their own study abroad plans. The Let the Student Choose Foreign Experience Scholarship will award up to $5,000 to up to two eligible Gies College of Business students each year. Preference shall be given to underrepresented minority students for one of the two awards.

Each year, at least one Bruce and Anne Strohm Foreign Experience Scholarship will be awarded to a student traveling to Africa.
