BUSINESS UNDERGRADUATE EXCHANGE PROGRAM IN
MANCHESTER, ENGLAND
University of Manchester - Manchester Business School

Visit our website, http://studyabroad.business.illinois.edu for more detailed information on this program, including student evaluations.

DESCRIPTION

Manchester Business School is the largest business school in the U.K. It is AACSB accredited. It is located in a lively city with two universities and more than 70,000 students. Manchester is one of the largest financial centers in Europe.

Manchester is the second largest city in England. It was recently voted the "Coolest Place in the UK" outside London by 18-30 year olds. Manchester is only 2 hours from London by train and only a 35-minute flight to Dublin. There are 2 local airports near Manchester where you can fly all over Europe very inexpensively. Manchester is famous for "football" and live music.

Susan Fidalgo from Manchester advises that students sign up for the non-catered housing option in the Manchester dorms so that you can really get to know the poeple you live with. You will be paired with a buddy from Manchester even before you arrive. The international student club has events all throughout the semester. Students who study in Manchester in the fall will have arrangements made for final exams so that they will be back at UIUC in time for spring semester. Students who study in the spring will take their final exams with the other students.

HOUSING/FOOD

Manchester School of Management has a good working relationship with the Accommodation office, so if students meet the published deadline, they will be assured a room. Dorms in the UK are always single rather than double. Some dorms provide food and some do not. Students have a reasonable chance of getting their preference.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Apply by February 15th to study abroad the following fall and by September 15th to study abroad the following spring.

Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0

This program is not open to freshmen, and it is strongly recommended that students in their last semester not participate, because their graduation will be delayed.
